About us

Message From Directors
Kim & Adam Grin

Together we founded Winning Techniques Camp over twenty five years ago with a simple purpose: to create a safe, healthy and welcoming place where young people could learn, grow, and discover their best selves. Over the decades, our camp has become a true summer camp tradition—one built on trust, family values, and a strong sense of community.

Our “family” has grown in two meaningful ways. First, our own children, Carl and Elly, have grown up at camp, finding their place, their confidence, and their passions here. And second, our family has expanded to include all those who spend their summers with us. Campers, staff, and alumni return year after year because they feel connected—to each other, to camp, and to the friendships and memories formed here.

We are humbled and grateful that Winning Techniques Camp has become everything we dreamed it could be: a place where safety and trust come first, where every child is included and accepted, and where friendships, fun, and personal growth thrive side by side. As proud members of the Ontario Camping Association, we adhere to over 675 safety, facility, and programming standards to ensure we provide the best experience possible. Seeing campers and staff build confidence, laugh freely, try new things, and support one another is the heart of what we do.

Being the Directors of Winning Techniques Camp is much more than a job for us—it’s our life’s work and our greatest joy. We pour our passion into creating an environment that is safe, fun, and enriching, a place where every child feels valued and encouraged to grow. With over 75 years of combined experience in coaching and mentoring young people, we believe deeply in teaching more than athletic skill. Through sport, teamwork, shared camp experiences and our Top 8 Skills Character Development Program, we aim to help children develop resilience and life skills that will stay with them long after the summer ends.

Above all, our mission is to inspire kids to be the best they can be—today, this summer, and for years to come.

Thank you for taking the time to consider our camp as your next summer camp adventure. We invite you to take a stroll through our website to explore our many programs and opportunities, and meet our team.

We hope to see you next summer!

character-founded camps engaging youth and kindling passion in a fun, safe and supportive environment.
Surrounded by nature and together as friends we share the tools needed in the pursuit of dreams and success for the game of life.

Why Winning Techniques Camp?

While we are a sports camp, we believe there is much more than learning skills and doing drills when it comes to our programming. Here at Winning Techniques we aim to foster acceptance and growth through our camp community, and specialized programs.

With a team of staff members who grew up at Winning Techniques, our atmosphere feels like one big family where everyone is included! We work together to allow children to learn alongside friends who feel like family in a place that feels like home.

We accept any person of any skill level, from the beginner to the elite athlete, Winning Techniques Camp offers programming for all. We maintain a low staff to camper ratio at 1:3, and provide professional instruction by highly qualified coaches. Every camper goes home with a wealth of new knowledge and skills. Additionally, as a proud member of the Ontario Camps Association, we adhere to over 675 standards and guidelines. We take the responsibility of caring for your children very seriously.

Gabby- Winning Techniques
Gabby Daleman

Figure Skating

This little ball of energy was introduced to me during a kindergarten skating class I was teaching. It was apparent Gabby liked skating fast and screaming excitedly, so I did what any good coach would do and grabbed her hand and we skated faster and faster and faster…. Until we fell to the ice giggling ;) Little did I know her dad, Michael was watching and laughing too. I knew right then that skating was it for this feisty, talented, powerful, gutsy, little tornado. I invited her to join our morning skating family, Winning Techniques. She added so much fun to our mornings, storming in, fighting with her mother, Rhonda lol. She was always on time ready to train at 6am! Competing was such a thrill for her and she enjoyed the challenges. Gabby and our son, Carl, became a dance and a pair team. They were the cutest, littlest team with a truly competitive spirit. Gabby’s family and ours became close. They were an instrumental part in starting our summer camp. Gabby and her brother, Zack, spent many summers with us at camp skating everyday and cross training with lots of fun outdoors activities.

We congratulate Gabby and her family for their power to believe, staying focused and having the grit to achieve the goal, an Olympic Gold Medal!

We hope Gabby celebrates her achievements, stays true to herself and enjoys the ride in this game we call life!

Cheers,

Kim Beemer-Grin
