Cold, snowy, windy weather. BUTTT.....at 7am this morning the lake was as smooth as glass and calling Adam, SOOO......Allan put on his winter clothes and took Adam for a ski.

It was so nice of Elly to wake me up at 6am this morning. lol The sunrise was absolutely beautiful. Pretty as a picture. I think we'll paint scenery in this weeks art class.

A Castle

The new building is coming along great. Elly was watering the dirt for her Dad and Allan, while they packed it. She says they are building a castle for her and all her summer friends.

Allan and Adam have designed the new tables for the dining hall. Allan just finished building the first one. We are going to have three new beautiful, long, wooden tables and benches. Now I could use some help! The next project is to find old camp pictures to clue on the table tops and then we'll seal it. Email pictures to kim@winningtechniques.com OR just bring some when you come for the alumni weekend - June 4-6.

Woke up to snow today. Good morning to work inside. I think we'll spring clean the office & sand down the new bunk bed parts. I wonder if Adam will go barefooting today? He just went last Thursday in his jeans. CRAZY! I'm glad Allan was driving. That spray is a little to cold for me.

Adam and Allan designed and built a new bunk bed for the new building. The campers will like it! Karen, you'll be happy to know my gardens are doing well. I'm going to have them all weeded before the black flies get bad!

We broke ground and the new accommodations building is on it's way. It's exciting to see all the planning come to life.
Elly's happy to see her beach coming back. She's anxious to build sand castles.

Between hockey and cross country skiing the time flew by. Elly is even skiing this year. We finally got some snowboarding in last night at Hidden Valley. The weather was great!

So the warmer weather didn't last. It's sooooo cooooold today.
In the past three days I've seen three moose. The one that sprinted in front of my truck yesterday posed for pictures.

The weather's been so warm and sunny. It was a great day for being outside. First cross country skiing at school. Then power skating on the lake. Then snowboarding at Hidden Valley. Looks like it's going to be another perfectly sunny winters day. We'll have to get some more outdoor activities done before the rain comes on Sunday.

Elly and I spent the afternoon sliding down the path to the lake. The weather is so perfect for a 2 year old to be outside.
It is pretty neat to look out the front window and watch some of the neighbors in our bay enjoying the frozen lake. I counted 5 rinks in our bay alone. People are out cross country skiing, snowmobiling, skating, tobogganing and ice fishing at all hours.

I just finished my very first power skating lesson on our outdoor rink(on the lake). The weather was sunny and beautiful. The ice conditions were excellent. We were able do scullies, crosscuts, edges, shoot- the ducks, bracket-threes, power circles with turns and more. It was a two hour class and everyone worked up a sweat.
I always wanted to have my own rink!

I's a cold and raining day at camp, you'd think it would be a good day for cleaning the house, but NO, we going skiing.
September - we are having a contest for the best picture from summer camp 2010, for the front cover of our brochure. Please submit your picture to kim@winningtechniques.com before October 1st, 2010.
